Emergency Closure Procedure

The Academy process we have in place in the event of an emergency closure or poor weather is detailed below.

The school/nursery will remain open whenever possible and will only close if it is dangerous for parents/carers/children and staff to get to and from the school/nursery or if it is deemed unsafe/dangerous at school/nursery. In extreme cases of poor weather, it may also be necessary to close the school/nursery if we do not have enough staff who can safely travel to allow us to run safely.

Parents/carers will be notified of the school closure via Text message using the Parentmail system, it will also be notified on the school website and via social media pages, Heart FM (local radio) and on the BCP website. We will always try and give as much notice as possible and keep you up to date via our website and a Text/Email will be sent should the school/nursery remain shut due to bad weather/an emergency. 

If during the school/nursery day, we needed to close the school/nursery due to weather/an emergency (i.e. flooding, as per previous experience) then we will contact all parents/carers via Text/Email/Telephone/Social Media Pages and we will keep our website updated accordingly.
